Chartroux Paola
"I am Chartroux Paola, I live and work in Rome. My first sculptures in Crete were born from the art school. I then studied art history and I attended a sculpture course on stone and wood in Switzerland, at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Zurich.
My creations are often women, made of curved lines, abducted by an idea, caressed by sea breezes, which dive into salted water.
I love clay. It is a poor material, present in every corner of the world, a material that has to do with the fundamental elements: earth, water, air and fire, a material that from the beginning of the history of man has been used to create Figures as a form of artistic expression. Like many before me, I too am fascinated by the transformation, through my hands, a piece of land in a story." CP
