About
"The idea for the Fossils vase collection came to me from fossils I found in a desert. I was fascinated by their amorphous shape and by their size, smaller than 1,5 cm. I remained a whole day watching them, sitting alone in the desert, observing them until sunset, when the inspiration came to me. Back home, I started sculpting the marble and it dawned on me to create a crude texture like the Unfinished by Michelangelo, mirroring the eroding action of the desert sand. Each piece is a functional artwork which captures the duality that is part of my research: the fossils represent the cycle of life and death, while the marble is an unchanging natural stone which can only be altered by human hands. Similarly, there is a dualism in the contrast of the rough and smooth sections, which unveil the potential of a single material."

Verteramo Roberta
Artist-designer, Roberta Verteramo lives and works between Torino and London. She attended Art School at Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and at Polytechnic Arts in Valencia. Her art sensibility was noticed by the Academy, that offered her a teaching position shortly after her graduation.
Later she became an international conservator of contemporary art, establishing the Triennale Museum laboratory in Milan, where she had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with internationally known artists and designers: Gaetano Pesce, Alessandro Mendini, Tomas Maldonado, Frank Gehry, Italo Rota, Fornasetti, and others. Her inspiration led her to design eclectic objects, which were presented at a private exhibition supervised by Philippe Daverio at Fuori Salone del Mobile 2011 in Milan. In 2014 she moved to London, where she has been active in the realm of luxury, crafting original and highly sophisticated artwork.
Since the early stages of her artistic life, Verteramo has been passionate about the design world. As an artist, she always tried to capture the essence of the various artistic expressions. From performances to paintings, from art-design to sculpture, she fluidly experimented all facets of visual art.
Her works, highly collectible unique pieces, are exhibited at 88gallery London, and at leading international design fairs, such as Design Miami/ Basel, PAD London and Paris, Masterpiece, Decorex London and TEFAF Maastricht.
Her projects have been selected for some of the most important Brands including: VisonnaireHome, San Lorenzo Yacht, Minotti and Salvioni.
