About the artist

Di Piazza Silvia

Italy

Silvia Di Piazza, born in Carnia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in 1978, initially attended the Institute of Art but realized her practical nature and desire to create didn’t align with academic studies. Her passion reignited through "flower design" courses, leading to the opening of a florist shop in Ovaro (Udine), where she expressed her talents for four years. By chance, Silvia discovered hand-tufting, combining manual skill, imagination, and creativity to create pure virgin wool rugs. Since 2009, she has worked in her laboratory in Comeglians, where she is inspired to create based on emotions and moments.
