The Knitted Dress sculpture begins with a simple fold of paper using the oriental Origami technique, depicting a dress. The focus is on the double transformation of material—paper turns into stone, and stone into fabric. In this piece, the hand-engraved texture closely resembles a knitted fabric, adding depth and intricacy to the form.

Mayer Tasch Verena
Verena Mayer-Tasch was born in 1968 in Mainz (Germany), graduated in Landsberg / Lech at the Dominikus Zimmermann Gymnasium and subsequently a carpenter diploma. After moving to Carrara where she lives and works, she graduated in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1992 she has exhibited her works in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and participates in numerous international sculpture symposiums.
Together with her husband, she manages her own sculpture studio, Studio Marmore + in the centre of Carrara.
