About the artist

Amaaro

Italy

Amaaro, founded in 2011 by Claudia, a painter, and Martino, an architect, creates ceramic products through a blend of poetic and symbolic reinterpretations. Their personal pantheon of animal and vegetable figures serves as metaphors for human types and behaviors, often depicting animals as symbolic deities. Since 2015, they've participated in major exhibitions like Milan's "Fuori Salone" and "White in the City." Their handcrafted ceramics, primarily majolica and porcelain, are made in their Montecchio laboratory using traditional techniques from Faenza.

Hand selected by our curators

The octopus, a symbol of renewal, adaptability, and intelligence, is part of our pantheon of zoomorphic deities, seated on an adjustable iron base. The sea bass, part of the "Aquarium Table Group," is a ceramic fish modeled and enamelled to capture marine chromatic effects with unique elegance, also perched on an adjustable iron base.
