Alessi Sabina

Italy

Sabina Alessi, born in Bruges in 1968, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1992. Her artistic research led her to explore new materials, transforming traditional painting by using items like candies, resins, lead, and rubber animal models. In 2009, her personal exhibition in Rome featured works with glossy and satin glazes, marking the start of color as a central theme in her art. Alessi has exhibited in galleries and public spaces in Italy and abroad, including works like a piece on the seven deadly sins in Empoli and a Corten steel sculpture, Onda 2030, at the Tor Vergata University in 2019.

About the artwork

Baseperaltezza Centoventipercento III

Paintings. Acrylic on canvas.

Hand selected by our curators

In this series of paintings, the investigation explores the perceptive possibilities of letting the internal elements "transmigrate," extending beyond the physical space of the canvas. The result is a rebalancing of compositional elements, where the strength of color and shapes take center stage as the main protagonists.
