About the artist

Pilato Stefano

Italy

Stefano Pilato, based in Tuscany, has worked in visual arts since 1987. His *Pesce Fresco* artistic production began in 1993, collecting wood and other materials found on beaches to create assemblages of marine creatures. His works give new life to discarded objects, highlighting their hidden aesthetics. Pilato’s art blends instinct and rationality, informed by his background in design. He also creates sculptures, installations, and objects using recycled materials. In addition to exhibiting in various venues, Pilato collaborates with the Blue Camel Social Cooperative in Livorno, conducting workshops and promoting marginal art.
