Martin Basher (b. 1979, Wellington, New Zealand) is a New York-based artist with an MFA from Columbia University. His painting and sculptural work engage with retail and advertising aesthetics, exploring the emotional charge of common objects. Expanding on display-based artistic practices, Basher examines consumer psychology, sublimated desire, and the masculine gaze. He has exhibited internationally in both public and private institutions.
