About the artist

Benetta Enrico

Italy

Benetta Enrico is an artist known for his unique use of typography, particularly the Bodoni font, which serves as a base for his original visual narratives. Whether in canvases or installations, Benetta transforms letters into contemplative elements, not just carriers of meaning, but as constitutive thoughts of the artwork. His works often feature free-falling letters that invite the viewer's imagination to create new stories. In his sculptures, made from corten steel, the material’s patina evokes a sense of history and timelessness, linking past and present in his creations.

About the artwork

Sculptures. Burnished iron.

Hand selected by our curators

Two burnished iron letter cones are mounted on discs, forming an hourglass. The artist shapes and arranges the characters to create a visual metaphor of letters dripping from above, with grains of sand accumulating at the bottom, continuously marking the passage of time.
