Maoyuan Yang
China
Born in 1966 in Dalian, China, Yang Maoyuan is a renowned artist known for his diverse works in painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. His art often explores the sources of culture and the essence of life, focusing on how art can adapt to its time and reflect inner power. In his "Look Inside" sculpture series, inspired by Western classical culture and the Age of Enlightenment, Yang reinterprets Western ideals of beauty. By rounding and polishing the edges of classical sculptures, he challenges Western discourse, expressing the philosophical idea that "roundness is harmony" from an Eastern cultural perspective.
