Profumo Marina
Italy
Marina Profumo, born in Ceranesi (Genoa), initially studied business administration before fully dedicating herself to painting. Her work blends diverse materials and explores themes like economics, politics, and the environment with an ironic and sharp perspective. Rejecting localism, her evolving style is a constant exploration of artistic expression. Since the late 1990s, she has exhibited in major Italian cities and internationally, including Stockholm, Chicago, and Berlin. Her works have been featured in sector magazines and catalogs. She currently lives and works in Genoa.

Hand selected by our curators
If I Were Fire n.2 is a collage featuring photos of a large bonfire, inspired by Cecco Angiolieri's poem If I Were Foco. The work reflects Angiolieri's rebellious protest against the world and his absurd fantasies of destruction. Part of the Imprisoned Brains series, it explores humanity's self-imposed confinement and absurdities.
