Vignando Mauro

Mauro Vignando, born in Pordenone, Italy (1969), now lives in Milan. His acclaimed Black Paintings series features large canvases in uniform black, where portions of the paint are deliberately removed—almost like acts of vandalism. These works, resembling mock walls that absorb light, capture a gesture of personal expression as Vignando impresses his autobiographical trace using his shoulder. The result is a dynamic tension between pure abstraction and a nod to figuration.
