De Grandis Nicoletta
Nicoletta de Grandis was born in 1959 in Venice where she lives and works, she
began her artistic career at the Istituto Statale d’Arte in Venice obtaining the
diploma of Art Teacher in the pictorial decoration section where she learned the
techniques of watercolour, tempera, lacquers and mosaic.
She began her work apprenticeship in Murano at an important decoration
laboratory, the Sent company, and under the guidance of some masters she
learned the many glass painting techniques.
From this experience she began her creative activity experimenting with new
methodologies and creating personal works in glass and furnishing objects with
which she has participated since the early eighties in important exhibitions of the
sector in Italy and abroad, obtaining numerous awards. These are the years of
collaboration with the prestigious Gabbiani company and with prestigious interior
architecture and lighting studios, especially in France.
As an artist at a young age she participated in the group exhibitions of the
Bevilaqua La Masa foundation and, following numerous group and solo
exhibitions at public and private venues, she joined the Materia Prima group and
later the women's group Atelièr Contemporanei a Venezia.
One of her glass works is permanently exhibited in the Brandolini room of the
Glass Museum in Murano, a space dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
