Francesco Faravelli
Francesco Faravelli was born in Milan in 1970. After years of commercial experience in large companies, he randomly approached the world of ceramics.
He first attends the workshop of a ceramist and sculptor in Varese, then enrolled in an annual course for ceramists sponsored by the European Union. Here he shows an immediate interest in the Raku technique. He participates in several exhibitions and in 2002 he installed his art at B&B Italia design exhibition at the Salone del Mobile (Milano) in collaboration with Studio Collage. In the same year, he first creates a collection of jewels for Dolce and Gabbana, and then a project for the Institute of Modern Design in Stockholm.
He won the third prize at mine, international furniture exhibition (Monza-2004) and in the same year, he was selected to participate in a collective art exhibition of Raku ceramists. In 2004 he spot TV and press review with the Fabliers in Villaerba (CO).
In 2005 staff exhibition at Pappafood - Mediaset headquarters (Cologno Monzese).
In 2005 he meets Paolo Guadalupi during the creation of the stand for Maison & Object in Paris. This meeting led to a close multi-year collaboration as long as, in agreement, Francesco became sole owner.
